There once was a bedtime story about falling gum balls and a underestimated guy who got a shot at doing something he loved.
But what if it happens in real life the next morning too? Bedtime stories is the newest Adam Sandler comedy that answers that question and goes a bit into fantasy in the progress.
Story Bedtime stories is all about Skeeter.
A middle aged man with a job in maintenance.
He is the maintenance guy at a large hotel and wants nothing more than to one day manage the place.
But the big boss keeps overlooking him.
Then he has to baby sit two little kids from his sister while she is out of town going to job interviews.
With nothing to do in the first night of baby sitting he decides the children can go to bed early.
That night he tells a bedtime story out of the top of his head.
He tells a story set in the middle ages about a guy who is overlooked just like him but this time he gets a shot.
Together with the children they think of a nice plot to the story where the man gets a shot and it rains gum balls.
The next day curtain parts of the story become reality.
Skeeter thinks it isn't coincidence and tries shape his life by telling the most impressive bedtime stories.
Movie The story is very unique and easy to follow.
Skeeter tells a bedtime story each night and hopes it becomes true in real life the next day.
Because it is a film, made partly for children, it doesn't goes very deep.
You have the bad guy, the sidekick, good girl, bad girl etc.
But that's okay because the movie isn't trying to be deep and complicated.
Unique for a comedy these days is that this movie is actually quite funny.
Unique jokes are placed in a nice 100 minutes experience.
Think of catchy one liners and visual comedy like a hamster with huge eyes.
Side note: the hamster is funny but it gets old fast.
Bedtime The bedtime stories make this movie unique.
And it is always interesting to see how these fantasy flicks convert into real life events.
For example raining gum balls can be in real life a truck loaded with candy crashed on a overpass resulting in the candy falling down from the sky.
Adam Sandler did really well as Skeeter.
Especially the Ferrari scenes and last presentation are really funny and well acted.
Partly because of this you always want to see the next bedtime story and often even more the morning after.
Bedtime stories is a great movie for both young and old.
The story is fantastic and the whole cast did a fantastic job.
On top of that this movie is actually funny at times.
I want to leave you with two things.
First I can highly recommend this movie and secondly: I will give you Ferrari for freeee.
(you'll get it after you saw the movie)
