- Along with providing scholarship money to a high school student who needs financial support to pay for the costs of college, the East Texas Baylor Club scholarship also promotes the club and the Baylor University Alumni Association. The scholarship may only go to students who have committed to Baylor University. For students who are still deciding on where to attend college, the additional scholarship money provided by the East Texas Baylor Club may help sway their decision toward Baylor.
- The scholarships from the East Texas Baylor Club are worth $12,000 over four years. The club gives two to four awards each year, depending on funding the club receives. The East Texas Baylor Club intends for the scholarships to help east Texas high school seniors cover tuition costs at Baylor University. Funding for the scholarships comes from fund-raising activities and donations to the club.
