- 1). Purchase your ticket. Call Amtrak at 1-800-872-7245 and ask the operator about booking a ticket for their Auto Train service or book online at the Amtrak website. The website will guide you through booking your ticket.
- 2). Check in. The check in service is available once a day and begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The last time available for check in of oversized vehicles and motorcycles is 2 p.m. SUV's and minivans can be checked in until 3 p.m. The train will then depart at 4 p.m. and arrive at the final destination at 9:30 a.m. the next day. Both single and round trip tickets are available.
- 3). Ride the train with the car. Both coach seating and room bookings are available. You can ride in rooms with a variety of options, including bedding and showers. Meals are provided for both coach and bedroom bookings. A variety of different options are available.
- 4). Claim your vehicle upon arrival and you'll be on your way.
