Determine the dominant pair:
Initial objective is to find the dominant pair of eyes and dominant hands. For finding out the dominant eye, you must check by pointing a finger over a target and determine the eye that shows the target when the other is closed. The eye that shows the target without any distortions, is the dominant eye and the dominant hand can be determined easily through your primary usage. Right-handed equipment is selected for usage when you dominant eye and hands are right. When your dominant pair is left, choose a left-handed equipment. When you have a cross dominant pair, prefer to go with a right-handed equipment. It's much easier to learn in right-handed equipment relative to left-handed equipment.
Choose a light weight equipment:
It is important to choose light weight equipment until you are comfortable with the shooting of an arrow. You must check the weight of pull before buying. The weights newbie's should go with while starting is, for male should be around 50 to 55 pounds, for female starters 39-35 pounds and 15 to 25 pounds for kids, depending upon their age. The equipments may be expensive, so it's better to buy relatively inexpensive ones, if you are not going to continue the sport for a long time.
Also that, while choosing equipment, the material should be thin, durable and faster in nature. Carbon arrows are fabulous and are highly preferred over the aluminum arrows. The length of the arrow should measure between 1-1.5€. The arrows must be stiffer and hit the target with higher accuracy when released.
Fletching is another important attribute that the arrow has, it stabilizes the arrow during its flight and feather fletching is highly lightweight. FOC should also be checked and has to be taken care about.
