Many thousands of people choose to head out on one of the many holidays to Seychelles every year, but choosing which of the famous islands to visit can be tricky.
This article takes a look at a few of the most famous to give you an idea of what's available in the region.
First up we have the most well-known, and popular, island in the region, Mahé.
Although maybe not as peaceful as the other islands in the region Mahé does still have much of the Seychelles 'charm'.
The island is home to the capital city of the Seychelles and is home too much of the population.
This means that the island is packed full of the region's history and culture; it makes for a great alternative for those who find some of the other Seychelles islands a little too peaceful.
The island is also home to on of the tallest peaks in the Seychelles, the impressive Morne Seychellois, which is located in the national park that shares its name.
If you're after something of a more traditional Seychelles experience then this next island might be what you're after, the brilliant Denis Island.
Almost the reverse of Mahé, Denis Island is a great escape for those looking to get away from the crowds.
At 375 acres in size the island is big enough to get lost in, especially as there are only 25 cottages on the island.
Because of the small number of people on the island at any one time it's also a great location to see the native wildlife.
The islands reputation for wildlife also comes from the preservation measures that ensure the protection of the islands brilliant bird life; it's a great location to see some of the rarer birds in the region, like the Purple Heron and Magpie Robin.
Finally, if you're after something a little more luxurious, there's the beautiful Frégate Island.
One of the many private islands in the region, Frégate Island is famed for its luxury resort.
The island is incredible secluded and features some of the best beaches in the world, many of which have won awards.
The island is covered in native plant life, including the takamaka, cashew and Indian almond tree and is also home to a small population of Aldabra Giant Tortoise which we're brought here by the island original occupants.
Frégate really is a great choice for those wanting to really treat themselves.
