- 1). Wait until you are really sleepy before going to bed and lay on your left side. This will help you to fall asleep quicker and lessen coughing.
- 2). Breathe only through your nose before going to sleep and during sleep.
- 3). Relax all of your muscles and use props to keep yourself on your side. Props can consist of anything from extra pillows, a backpack worn throughout the night or a belt looped around your chest with knotted socks at your back.
