Built for business but with a fun and relaxing side (after all, it is Orlando), the Hilton Orlando is perfectly situated next to the Orange County Convention Center (it's the only hotel connected with a covered walkway).
A whopping 175,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 50,000 square foot ballroom, dominates one half of the resort's common areas. For business that has to get done on the road, a full UPS store is conveniently on-site.

Hilton Orlando: The Fun Side
On the other side of the hotel is the resort section. An extensive swimming pool area includes a family pool with two zero-entry entrances, a lazy river, a poolside restaurant and bar, a quiet pool with cabanas, and a twisting water slide which my 7-year-old declared "awesome!" An adjacent sports court and in-pool basketball hoops add to the fun. The resort also has a nine-hole executive golf course for the time-pressed.
Just off the pool is the fabulous spa, with 15 treatment rooms. I booked a signature massage, which I knew I was going to love the minute I walked in the room and saw the warm foot bath with flower petals that awaited me. The spa lounge was so relaxing (cushy chaise lounges a cozy blanket on each one) that I couldn't resist curling up on one after my massage -- I fell right to sleep.
Hilton Orlando: Guest Rooms
The resort has 1,400 guest rooms. We checked into a Double Queen with a view of the swimming pools.
With two Hilton Serenity beds we couldn't help but sleep soundly, The desk hid a roll-out table underneath that doubled as a table for room service. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo.
Hilton Orlando: Restaurants
There are seven restaurants to choose from at the Hilton Orlando. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at The Bistro, with an eggs-made-to-order station and unique, refreshing "Aqua Fresca" drinks - watermelon-ginger and basil-lemonade. At Spencer's, the steak and chophouse overlooking the pool, the side dishes were the standouts for me - peppery saut?ed mushrooms and hand-cut French fries double-fried a la Belgium frites. David's Club is a bright, casual sport bar with leather seating, plenty of wide-screen TVs, and two free pool tables; order the crab cakes to munch on. (Reviewed 9/1/2009)
