Is There Hope For Skin Wrinkles?

Almost everyone dread seeing wrinkles on their faces, especially on the eye, forehead and lips areas. Yet, sooner or later, wrinkles will start creeping in, because they are part of the aging process that is a natural stage of life. We can either ignore the wrinkles, live with them graciously or do something about them.
Most people will spend fortunes on wrinkle creams and expensive surgery or laser procedures to get rid of the pesky skin wrinkles. It is even an obsession for some to find the best wrinkle creams that can guarantee results in a few days.

What Causes Wrinkles

There are many factors that can cause wrinkles, the most common of which is the aging process. As we age, the skin becomes less elastic and the deep skin layers of the skin become thinner. Fat cells under this layer also degenerate and the collagen fibers start to deplete. Skin cells lose their ability to hold moisture, which also result to dry, chapped skin.

The sun can also damage skin cells which lead to premature aging and even cause skin cancer, if exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays is so extreme. It can also result to loss of elastin and collagen, two of the proteins that are responsible for holding the skin tissues together, keeping them firm and flexible.

Other pollutants found in the environment such as nicotine, alcohol and other toxins can result to the release of free radicals which can lead to skin wrinkles and again, cancer.
Rapid weight loss can also cause premature aging. During rapid weight loss, moisture is not replenished and the body is denied its usual supply of vitamins, especially Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant that can delay the development of skin wrinkles.

Skin Wrinkle Solutions

There are many options in the market to remove skin wrinkles. You would see a variety of wrinkle creams, moisturizers and cosmetics that contain ingredients which are either meant to hydrate or moisturize the skin. However, people who understand the importance of collagen regeneration to delay the onset of premature aging and avoid skin wrinkles know that the better way to get rid of wrinkles is to penetrate the deep layers of the skin.

Laser Dermbrasion

Using lasers, it is now possible to reach the dermis, the second layer of the skin more precisely and stimulate the renewal of collagen. However, these treatments have to be repeated at least twice a year to gain the maximum benefit from them. These procedures are costly, can be painful at times and take longer healing time.

Laser Resurfacing

More recent laser technology can also stimulate collagen replenishment without targeting the epidermis. The procedures is considerably less painful that laser dermbrasion and does not require a lengthy healing time. The treatments have to be repeated two or three times a year in order to achieve positive results.

Injectables

Injecting animal collagen into the deeper layer of the skin is becoming popular as a solution for skin wrinkles. Caution should be exercised, however, because some people may have allergic reactions to the material being injected.

Facial Serums

Facial serums are of smaller molecules than regular skin moisturizers, which means they can penetrate skin cells on the deeper layer of the skin better. The best facial serum that has been proven to restore collagen and elastin are those that contain essential oils and fatty acids that can enhance the ability of the body to produce collagen. SkinSmoothy is now being recognized as an effective facial serum because it combines essential oils and fatty acids with Vitamin C that all contribute to the body's ability to produce collagen.
Although these skin wrinkle solutions are available, one should not forget that these are only meant to delay the signs of aging, and not really to completely stop the aging process. One way or another, we would have to accept skin wrinkles and learn how to age graciously.
