Let me first tell you a story.
It's a story about a dog and a nail.
It's the story of the dog and the nail.
One day a man goes on a walk and as he's walking down the street in his neighborhood he walks past a house where, out in the front yard sits a dog who is whimpering and crying.
The man was a little concerned but kept on walking.
This continued every day for two weeks; everyday he'd walk past this house and the dog would be crying.
So finally the man went up to the dog owner's house and said to the man, "every day I walk past your house, your dog is whimpering and crying.
Why is that?" To which the dog owner replied, "because he's sitting on a nail.
" Puzzled, the neighbor asked the homeowner, "why is he sitting on a nail?" And the man answered, "because the nail doesn't hurt bad enough.
" This story talks about the situations when we are so painful and unsatisfied from our situation in any area, when we want to make changes in our lives but don't seem to really do anything about it.
We all have nails, we all have areas in our lives that we are painful or dissatisfied about, and yet it's so rare we stop to consider that maybe you can get free from working in a job we don't like, or finally start the business you always thought about and wanted to.
The problem is many times sitting on the nail looks much more comfortable and safe than to move away from it.
Of course it hurts, but still you know how it feels and how to deal with that.
We all love certainty, but there is magic in going out of the comfort zone, there is power on the moment you decide to get off the nail and go work on your dream business.
I think we all owe ourselves to impact the world and make a difference in other people's lives.
Everyone of us have unique talents to share with the world, and there is only one reason to start a business of your own- make a change in other people's lives.
So leaving the nail means letting go of the security and go after what you really want and deserve.
Too many people live from paycheck to paycheck and the nail, that inner voice that whispers them they can do much more in their lives, so much more to give, such unique talents and abilities to share- this voice is so much right and we all should stop, listen to it, and think what is the next step we can do to get off the nail and create the business and life we deserve.
