How to Use Subutex

1). Take the proper dose. Typical doses for Subutex are one or two pills.
2). Place the pill under your tongue. Subutex is taken sublingually and dissolved. Hold the pill under your tongue until is completely dissolves in your mouth.
3). Don't speak while the pill dissolves. Subutex dissolves more efficiently if the mouth is kept closed.
4). Do not inject Subutex. Some patients inject the pills with other substances such as benzodiazepines. The combination is dangerous, and Subutex should only be taken sublingually.
5). Avoid alcohol. Alcohol increases the drowsiness and weakness effects from Subutex. Do not take any other depressants such as alcohol while taking Subutex.
