One Day in Warsaw - New Market, Old Market

Have you ever been in Warsaw? It's a great city which can't be seen in one day.
But if you don't have more time it's good to have a plan of the trip and know what to visit, place by place.
Starting form the airport or main railway station...
and getting on the adventure of life.
Let's start our trip from New Town which was separated from Old Town in XV century and had even it's own Market Square.
Nowadays Old and New Town are united.
But still the part of New City is less crowded and makes totally wonderful place for a walk with pleasant cafes, quiet pubs and restaurants with tasty food.
We can also see there one of the oldest churches in Warsaw, The Visitation Church with high belfry that has its own legend.
The wall that is surrounding the temple is close to the river.
The view is beautiful there.
The New Town Square Market with his City Hall was originally made of wood.
But after the numbers of fires it was changed into a traditional baroque and classic houses made of stone.
And after the World War II it was rebuild again into a more modern apartment houses which we can see today.
At the market we can see another famous church in baroque style, the St Kazimierz Church.
This temple, founded in XVIII century, was a shelter during the War and, unfortunately, destroyed.
back then (part of people died or were taken to Auschwitz).
Rebuilt in XX century still has items from the original equipment like organ or bells.
While going toward the Barbican (through the Freta Street) we are seeing the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Museum.
On our right we are looking at the Holy Spirit Church, the starting point of August annual pilgrim to Czestochowa, and on our left the St Jack Church.
An in front of us there is a Barbican.
The Barbican is an element of Gates which were a part of the defending wall in XVI century.
As most of Warsaw also Barbican was rebuilt after the War.
Nowadays there are small art galleries the Barbican and Powder Tower.
And going straight Nowomiejska Street we are reaching Old Town.
The Square Market of Old Town is a real heart of this place.
It's beauty was appreciate by UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
It's a great place for tourists.
And in the Summer time we can meet there very interesting people - artists, jugglers, women selling flowers or candy floss.
The whole picture is completed by outdoor cafes and bars which are surrounding the Market Square so as the beautiful apartment houses.
In the center of the square we can see a symbol of Warsaw - Siren with sword in her hand surrounded by important cultural places.
On the north we have the Museum of History, on the East the Museum of Literature and on the south we have famous House Apartment under the Basilisk.
As you can seer there so many places to see only in the Old and New Town.
Seeing them will probably take one day.
If we want to stay for a night and continue our trip we can go to one of Warsaw hotels and next day go where we have finished to start new sight seeing.
If we don't have more time we can take Warsaw Okecie airport transfer [http://www.
escape2poland.

But definitely - there is much more to see and willing to go back!
