Why make money? Your family, your health, your dreams.
How many of us dream of watching their favorite programs on a large flat screen TV? Many people do, but how many can really afford to buy it? Not many.
Life is harsh and is requires grit and persistence.
Without this toughness, life will trample over everything you desire.
Love does not buy food or pay bills, though it is hard to truly come to terms with that.
We need clever and innovative ways to make money.
Do not do it for the TV you want, it is not a strong enough reason.
Do it for your family, it is every person responsibility that his or her family lives comfortably, without worry.
Work for Something but not Money Odd? Yes.
You need to work for something other than money because as too many people have seen recently, work is not always there.
Work for skills, connections, or information.
I can hear the cries.
"But, I should get a high paying, stable job!" Well, it would be nice.
But, most people cannot do that and it is not necessary.
These large corporations do not guarantee a job to everyone, and once you rely on them too much, you begin to lose skills.
You gain the comfort of the daily routine, that becomes yearly (get up, go to work, eat lunch, come home, eat dinner, say good night to children).
That routine is easy and requires no other effort than simply following a pattern.
The solution is work for something other than money, keep trying to learn new things at your job, expand your connections, or try to work your way up.
Do not let things become stagnant.
Here is an example of something you can do...
they won't work for everyone.
Take the ideas and fundamentals instead of the actions taken.
Opening up a pizzeria, is a great way to make a fair bit of money.
The work that is required is rather arduous but the pay off is well worth it.
There are some pizzerias that get a ton of customers while others do not.
You can go get a piece of paper and try to figure out some numbers and optimizations and it would not be hard at all.
But, the more effective method is to work at a pizzeria.
The pay may not be worthy of a college graduate, but hear me out.
Work for something more than money.
Learn as much as you can about anything you can like how to: treat employees, manage inventory, advertise, make a good pizza, interact with customers.
This could be done on a weekend job.
Then if you have a college degree combine the skills; make a business plan using the skills you have gained from your various work experiences and schooling.
And open up a pizzeria! Do not have enough money? I will talk about how to save money.
Now, you may not want to be a pizza maker for the rest of your life, right? I think that the job is actually not bad at all, but some people may want to do something else.
Once the store has become a sustainable force, sell it, rent it, or expand.
Then, move onto something else.
Why to NOT Buy a House! Well is costs a lot to keep livable.
If your plumbing ever fails that's a possible 10k+ job to fix piping.
Insurance, alarm systems, taxes...
the list goes on.
If you think that one day your house will be worth something great and it is worth putting all your money it it now, then get a pen and paper.
Write down ever cent you spend in the house, from electricity and heating to plumbing and kids breaking your windows.
Now, what do you expect it to be worth, after you pay pay your mortgage? If the house will be worth more then what you paid and it overcomes inflation, then you are in luck.
But, think about this: would your money worked more for you in a pizzeria? What are the yields for a good business compared to the effort and money that goes into a house? REAL STORY: I was helping my brother in law when the pipe that leads to the sewer broke and caused a back up in the basement.
It was terrible! Sewage everywhere.
we cleaned it all out by hand because they didn't have the money to pay for the cleaning, money is too much of an issue to waste on cleaning services.
So, in the basement you have my college degree, my sister's college degree, and his three college degrees cleaning crap off of the floor.
