I wonder how these businesses still strive to be the best in their industry while the recession was happening.

Another way is they put the customer first and grow with the business and community.
Most entrepreneurs follows these tactics to grow into a successful business.
The majority of entrepreneurs try to find a niche that they are comfortable with.
They usually find this niche by having experience in that industry or it can happen at random.
The industry that you find your niche is important also because some industry factors are more important than others.
Entrepreneurs find success after finding that niche by having a small customer base first, then expand after they find out their product of service is successful.

Once the entrepreneur build a store or an online store, they want to find what the customer want and do not want.
Some customers can give valuable advice on the business to help them grow to the success that they have.
Also, the customer can give you a good review to other people community to help you grow your business.
If the growth of the community and your store coincide, your company could be one of the best stores in the area.
If you have one the best stores in the area you could have regional awards for your company and industry.
Some entrepreneurs have successful business by understanding certain conditions in the economy can be worse or better than others.
By realizing on which way the economy is can help if the business need to have more sales to help the customer through the hard times.
This can help the customer and business by developing brand loyalty for both.
