Citizenship and Immigration Canada is making this easier for the Indians to visit, immigrate and study in Canada with different visas to suit different requirements. This is the reason why 32000 Indians were allowed to settle down in Canada with a Permanent Resident status during the year 2010, a rise of 13% over the preceding year. Indians have been a major proportion of Canadas immigrant population and the country has got immensely benefitted by the hard work and talent of an average Indian.
The present population of Indian immigrants in Canada is has reached to a number of one million. The number is growing as a lot of other Indians are being allowed a Canada Visa to visit their family members, study at a college or university or get employed with a Canadian employer. The immigration is taking a steep rise as Canada seems to be a good growing ground to the professionals and students in India. The already existing communities or associations in Canada are making this all the more possible.
Canada-in-India Student Partners Program is working in close association with Association of Canadian Community Colleges to launch programs that address concerns on Indian students. An outcome to this is that the number of Indian students in Canada has tripled in 3 years time since 2008. This is getting better with the introduction of the Canadian Experience Class by the Canadian government to allow the Indian students to also become the Permanent Residents of the country once the studies are over. The recent declaration of 24 occupation categories in the Canadian economy as per NOC classification is giving a greater opportunity to the intending immigrants in India. The occupations arise from different and enriched segments of the economy, giving the Indian professionals a good opportunity take a progressive career ahead.
Canada visa is being made easier by CIC by setting up Canadian consulate at major cities such as Chandigarh and states of Punjab & Haryana. The operational and administrative assistance on immigration applications is being provided so that the visa is issued without much trouble and delay. These two states make for a huge 68% of the entire composition of the Indians who immigrate to Canada. The intensity on immigration is so strong that 3300 immigrants in 2004 grew to 10,040 by the year 2009.
What makes immigration more attractive is the quality of work which has become more qualitative in the past few decades. Earlier the immigrants in Canada had to take up work which required more of labour than skills. The rise of IT technology and education in Canada has led to a significant growth on IT professionals in India which are moving to Canada and are taking up jobs which require superfluous skills and abilities. The immigration guidelines are being observed under strict surveillance as a lot of immigration consultants are submitting fraudulent and manufactured papers on immigration. CIC is therefore working in close association with the local consulates to become sure of the merit of immigration.
