La Orotava is located barely 6km away from Puerto de la Cruz town. This makes it very convenient for tourists to travel to and fro between the towns to enjoy their holiday resorts. But the best attraction in La Oraotava has to be the celebrations of Corpus Christi where the streets are beautifully decorated with baked leaves, flower petals and volcanic sand. It is this 1847 tradition with biblical motif displays that attract many visitors to La Orotava.

Since La Orotava is not very big, there are only two places to stay for visitors. Nevertheless, you can find Pension Silene on Tomas Zerolo 9 Street that offers rooms with en-suite showers as well as small balconies to view the town surroundings. The other accommodation is Hotel Victoria on Hennano Apolinar 8 Street which is slightly more expensive. It was a Canarian mansion of 400 years refurbished for welcoming visitors to Orotava. It offers only 13 double rooms complete with satellite TV, modem and fax connections.

There are some good restaurants in La Orotava where you will enjoy the local delicacies like fine sole in prawn sauce and asparagus or roast cheese with mojo or ropa vieja.
